Keep it high! Remember this simple mantra when putting on your sling and you won’t fall prey to one of the most common ring sling mistakes: rings worn too low on the body.
Here’s how to do it: put your sling on and position the rings on top of your shoulder. Yup, that’s right–on top of your shoulder. After putting your child in the sling, his or her weight will adjust the rings down to the correct “corsage” position. That is, the rings should be just about where you would’ve worn a corsage to your junior prom.
Rings worn lower than corsage position make for a shorter pouch for your child and can also make for a less comfortable carry in general. So, remember “rings high” and all should be well!
